Let Joy In
I feel bad - She's leaving so I have to see her.
I feel bad - I was invited to the wedding so I have to send a gift.
I feel bad - They came to our party so we have to go to theirs.
Is this the path towards joy?
Search your heart and you will clearly know that doing things because “you feel bad” is simply acting out of guilt.
When you act from guilt, you create resentment rather than joy.
So how can you shift out of guilt and into joy?
It’s never too late to START SAYING:
- No to things that drain you.
- Yes to things that replenish you.
When a friend calls for help, stop. Ask yourself, “Do I really want to help right now?” Check your body when someone asks you to do something:
- Are there areas of tension?
- Do you get a gut reaction?
- Does your body say, “Yes this would be joyful” or “No, this would be draining.”
All of us receive messages from our bodies about what serves our health and well-being and what doesn’t.
Our bodies know immediately when we are doing something or even thinking about something that doesn’t support us fully. Tuning into this inner guidance takes some practice.
When you refine your emotional awareness you are tuning into the subtle anatomy of the body. In yoga, part of this subtle anatomy is known as the chakra system.
Each chakra is a spinning wheel of energy that is affected by your thoughts and feelings.
You have 7 chakras in your body and an 8th chakra in your aura.
When you feel powerful and confident, notice how this energy emanates from your navel, the solar plexus chakra. Any abdominal workout will help you feel the seat of your personal power, at your navel.
Become powerfully aligned with your inner knowing.
Learn how to tune into your energy using an awareness of your chakras.
Join the conscious movement series and journey through each of your 8 chakras.
