Relax in the Midst of Anything
Wednesday night I wrote my intentions for magnetizing money and happily sent them off to my teacher.
Thursday morning I slipped and fell on the ice. As I lay flat and possibly broken, I contemplated the irony of the situation. Was there a connection I wondered?
Instead of feeling like a victim, I decided to look for the lesson.
Did I feel undeserving in some way of being prosperous? Did I feel insecure about making a living doing the work that I love? Or was it simply that my body and mind needed a break and I was being forced to slow down?
Of course there was no one answer...
Prosperity, I realized takes many forms. The secret is being open to receive.
Instantly an abundance of family and friends were offering to help me. I opened my heart and did my best to graciously accept their kindness without feeling like an inconvenience.
I also realized, what it means to be part of the whole. Even when we're caught up in our lives, we never walk in isolation.
I started riding the bus and subway although I felt scared of being shoved by the crowds. The fear required me to call on trust. I began my affirmation, "I am safe and I am protected."
Life is unpredictable. The key is not to react to circumstances life presents but to relax into the ebb and flow and allow the lessons to unfold.
I invite you to begin cultivating your ability to relax in the midst of anything by joining the next series I am teaching. Join me on Wednesday April 30th for a free introductory conscious meditation class at Roots Yoga Studio.
